Lots of great things happening as the hockey season moves through January!

KVMHA would like to give a huge thank you to volunteers who made this years First Shift program a success! 45 skaters brand new to hockey took to the ice to learn the basics of the game. We are pleased announce that 30 of these players signed up to play with us for the rest of the season. The success of this program has resulted in our U9 Community  Hockey program to be filled to absolute capacity with a whopping 55 players registered. Not to worry….The Community Hockey Crew is up to the challenge!

Our Atom, Peewee and Bantam C Teams hit the ice for the KV Winter Classic Tournament this weekend (Jan. 31st to Feb. 2nd). This is a big tournament and we will need all hands on deck to make it a successful, fun event. Teams must have their volunteers show up to receive the $250.00 tournament rebate.

This has been a great year for development for our goaltenders. We are pleased to announce that goalies are participating in goaltending clinics by Sea Dogs Goaltender Brian Flemming. This development program is a replacement to the goalie rebate program. This change was made in response to parents of goaltenders, who identified development opportunities as crucial for keeping goaltenders in the sport of hockey.

If anyone has any used goalie gear at their home not being used, please consider donating it to KVMHA. We can also used gear in reasonable working condition to give our players a chance to try out playing between the pipes. If you have gear to donate, please contact Colin at cgrhull@gmail.com.
